    Wet/Dry cycle

Sounds like more research is necessary- A run to loss hydro sounds like more of a soilless medium, with a continuous flow or trickle of water- Am I correct? I know the downfalls to such a system, so I have been sticking to dirt, but it has always interested me. Maybe I should give it a whirl-...

    Wet/Dry cycle

What is the benefit to the wet/dry cycle? Could grower introduce water based on plant use, say by weight of the bucket, and keep moisture content relatively the same throughout the growth and flowering of a plant?

    So what do you think?

Strips from aquarium stores are accurate enough, and fairly cheap- the ones with the three or five tabs on them- I got them last from www.indigo.com but I do prefer the digi myself- it saves the effort, and in the end it is cheaper. personally I like to have a manual backup to check against the...

2nd verse- same as the first.

I had read somewhere on this site that someone had been using bloom ferts throughout- guess I'll have to go back to the veg nutes. I really don't have the time I would need to dedicate to a good strain just yet. I work in HVAC and am accumulating used controls to make my room virtually 100%...

2nd verse- same as the first.

Here we go again, after a little rest for the busy season I'm back at it. These bagseed plants were germinated and put in soil on the weekend following Thanksgiving. Now the weekend after Christmas running two MH bulbs, 400 and 250watts 24/7, soil with perlite and DE. Watering with...

    Quick Queestion!!!!

I had one unnoticed herm in the corner of the room and it completely ruined the whole crop of 12 plants. Don't let that crap go long enough to pollinate any of the other plants. When you remove it make sure not to disturb it too much- you may inadvertently spread it's pollen.

Diatomaceous Earth + Fungus Gnats... Please Read

I had a similar issue with my last grow. The DE did help with the gnats, but I was top watering and after doing my research I wish I hadn't. The gnats are bred and hatch in the wet soil on the top, and the DE turns to cement when wet and let dry. I would say you want to continue watering from...

    First time flower- 3weeks

I have considered building a wall in the middle of the room to split into two- one for veg and one for flower, but I don't know if I want to invest the time into separating the setup, although I have plenty of lights to work with.- I'm a heat tech by trade and this time of year is about the...

    First time flower- 3weeks

I haven't been checking the PH of the soil, but have at least made sure the PH of the water has been seven. What would one use to amend an acidic/ basic wet /dry medium that was to be used for growing, and would it be different if you're vegging or flowering?

    First time flower- 3weeks

I've known I didn't have enough light from the get go, but limited resources have not allowed me to continue pouring money into my future savings account. I probably won't be able to invest 'till after my second grow, sadly. And I have been using the superbloom nutes from miraclegrow for...

    First time flower- 3weeks

I don't really have a clue about what I'm doing in the first place, and with the third week of flower behind me I'm in the dark about what, if anything I really should be doing other than leaving the girls to do their business during the "night". Feeding MG bloom booster during last few...

    Stretchy girls

My first grow, ends up with 6 females. I know I spent more time in Veg than I really wanted to,(nearly 3 months) but I've been super busy and didn't have time to smoke, let alone sex plants, and I really wanted to witness the growth process. Now at 2nd week to the day in flower, and after...

Don't worry- I'm over the girl, I just need my new girls to provide what I can't afford anymore rather than move again. And I didn't realize you could sex a plant before switching to 12/12, If this is possible it would be a great help. I'll check out the indoor forum. Thank you for all...

I just took a look and it seems like most plants have alternating nodes on the newest growth- I'm so excited! But I still get the feeling I'm in the dark.

Really? I thought I had read somewhere that the plant tends to stop growth and put it's energy to flowering. But this info just goes against the grain, yaknow. I figured there had to be some growth anyways. Do you think I should start flowering now? That would mean I should leech the...

    super newbie

So you're saying it is best to wait for the plants to have alternating nodes before flowering? I don't see that posted anywhere online or in the many books I've been poking at. Thank you for the info- I had kinda assumed you could flower any time you want, and it seems that some people have...

I've got two- one is a clear MH conversion bulb at 400watts, and a frosted MH at 250 watts, it does look like stretch- but I keep a fan on 'em and only lift the light when they start getting super close- I raised the light for the picture. Is there anything I'm missing?

Okay, here goes. I've never done anything like this before but I've done my homework. The story goes like this: My girlfriend left me for my roommate about two months ago- and I'm living in a 2br apt. I've always tended to houseplants and have a garden, smoke copious amounts of ganga, and...
