Alternating nodes?

Hows it going everybody? I was just curious if the clippings im going to take for clones need to to have alternating nodes? Or can i pretty much take any clipping longer than about six inches. My seedlings are anywhere from 8-13 inches, but not all of them are fully mature yet? Thanks guys

They sound kinda small, you wouldn't get too many from them. Two months of age is a good time to take some cuts, here is a good link.
