I know they had that hit song "Handlebars" but I never really cared for them until yesterday. My friend and I were all chillin and stuff and one of my friend played their album for us. He always introduce us to new artists/band since he works at Universal. I like what I heard. What do you guys think of them?

My buddy really likes them, not my cup of tea personally.

apparently they can guide a missle by satellite................

Honestly? Can't stand them. A coworker of mine used to play one of their cd's in the trailer yard while we were getting things ready for the road. Especially that dumb "handlebars" song. Oh my god! Talk about #1 most annoying song in the world.

:fly: Mal C :fly:

My sister's kids love the handlebars song though. Two and 5 and they sing along everytime.

I didn't care much for the handlebar song but really like the message given by some of the other songs, like ....There's a war going on for your mind, Rise, We Are Winning, and Fighting with tools.

"Rise" is one of my favorite songs... i saw them play it live and i was blown away. you should check them out live.. they put on a great show.

yeah pretty bad stuff,my gf likes that **** and i dont get it...ill give anything a chance, haha unless its on the radio of course.music that is made strictly for money(imo)and nothing else, dont have time for it personally.also i thought the new age being over the top wack **** style was out,but apparently not.
"i can guide a missle by satellite" well great go stop famine in some 3rd world country with that power.probably an ignorant statement seein is how i dont listen to it or even remotely care what the song is about.

New age over the top wack style?

occupied minds
unemployed skills
desolation
worn out
torn down
just for now thrill seekers
slanging
test tube babies in beakers
where gun blasts pump straight from the speakers
the system where the
poor get poorly paid
to hold the ladder
where the rich get ricocheted
into the stratosphere
and in between people are rushin' like vladimir
with metals to make their status clear
get us out of here

we need heroes
build them
don't put your fist up
fill them
Fight with our hopes and our hearts and our hands
we're the architects of our last stand
[x2]

there's a war going on for your mind
those who seek to occupy it will stop at nothing
the battlefield is everywhere
there is no sanctuary
there are no civilians
you have two choices
surrender or enlist

what kind of person are you
always the first to argue
or never down to stick your neck out
cause it hurts you far too much
to see your rep suffer
set you up a buffer
well neither is enough for us cut from a tougher brand of duct tape
the propaganda's stuck on us like sock pajamas
spread like a virus
through accepted thoughts and proper manners
but off the cameras
somethings simmering across the land
about to bubble up
and knock the lids off of the pots and pans

these are some lyrics from " Fighting with Tools "

my 5 yr old sings along to handlebars ,,but there songs drive me to boredom :hairpull:

New age over the top wack style!

I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

Look at me, look at me
hands in the air like it's good to be
ALIVE
and I'm a famous rapper
even when the paths're all crookedy
I can show you how to do-si-do
I can show you how to scratch a record
I can take apart the remote control
And I can almost put it back together
I can tie a knot in a cherry stem
I can tell you about Leif Ericson
I know all the words to "De Colores"
And "I'm Proud to be an American"
Me and my friend saw a platypus
Me and my friend made a comic book
And guess how long it took
I can do anything that I want cuz, look:

I can keep rhythm with no metronome
No metronome
No metronome

I can see your face on the telephone
On the telephone
On the telephone

Look at me
Look at me
Just called to say that it's good to be
ALIVE
In such a small world
All curled up with a book to read
I can make money open up a thrift store
I can make a living off a magazine
I can design an engine sixty four
Miles to a gallon of gasoline
I can make new antibiotics
I can make computers survive aquatic conditions
I know how to run a business
And I can make you wanna buy a product
Movers shakers and producers
Me and my friends understand the future
I see the strings that control the systems
I can do anything with no assistance
I can lead a nation with a microphone
With a microphone
With a microphone
I can split the atoms of a molecule
Of a molecule
Of a molecule

Look at me
Look at me
Driving and I won't stop
And it feels so good to be
Alive and on top
My reach is global
My tower secure
My cause is noble
My power is pure
I can hand out a million vaccinations
Or let'em all die in exasperation
Have'em all healed of their lacerations
Have'em all killed by assassination
I can make anybody go to prison
Just because I don't like'em and
I can do anything with no permission
I have it all under my command
I can guide a missile by satellite
By satellite
By satellite
and I can hit a target through a telescope
Through a telescope
Through a telescope
and I can end the planet in a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust
In a holocaust

I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handle bars
No handlebars

I can ride my bike with no handlebars
No handlebars
No handlebars

Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah
Everybody sing along
Do we get it? NO! Do we want it? YEA!
This is the new sh*t

So yeah, I picture the Flobots as a basis for Marilyn Manson's song "This Is The New Sh*t"

:fly: Mal C :fly:

and who the hell ever told these guys that they are famous rappers lol

there not...anyone who gets studio time and a deal assumes they are...and dont get mad,as this music is for the mindless that need to have there music spoon fed to them thanks to the radio.imo

Most "pop" music played on the radio these days pretty much sucks. Don't get me wrong tho, I'll listen to anything once, and almost anything twice. I just don't see what anybody sees in the Flobots after having had to listen to their album most of the summer while I was on the road. But I can't really bad talk it either because I'm sure there are TONS of bands that I like that nobody else can stand.

:fly: Mal C :fly:

very true, which is why these topics should be kept to ones self, but when exposed its up to intelligence and not ignorance to dictate where the discussion goes.haha, must remember everyone has there own opinion of what they consider "good music".

Well, people's opinions doesn't bother me, I just wanted to see what everybody's thoughts were on the group. A little discussion doesn't hurt anyone. ;)
