Yes it's a good light bulb but you would still have to buy the rest of the system which includes the ballast and the socket and stuff. That bulb wont go into a regular socket.

Great for a beginner grow and nothing to put together. Bulbs included, just plug into socket and grow! Metal Halides are for vegging and High Pressure Sodium are for flowering. If you can only afford one...get the HPS and use compact fluorescents for your vegging. just keep any and all water/ mist away from the bulb it can casue it to blow but other then that as long as you dont mess with wiring its as safe as using a computer given you dont let the light lean against something flameable...
