hps confused???

im currently growin with 3x3ft fl 3x4ft fl 6x2ft cfls box 4ftx3ftx6ft high,inside completely covered with heat reflective matt foil a 12" diameter exhaust to outside and a 12" bottom fan.im thinkin of changing to hps but am confused as to which makes and types and watt size i will need.might hav issue with heat as currently with both fans runnin temp peaks at 23 deg and when exhaust fan is off it peaks at 36 deg.will i be able to control temp with hps

So you have two fans or one? You should only have to use one as an exhaust fan and leave the other as passive air intake (no fan), assuming the exhaust fan moves enough air and in a box that size most fans would.

I am confused on what size grow box you are trying to put this hps light in.

3 feet wide x 4 feet deep and box stands 6 feet high approx!

A 600 watt hps would be ideal. I would think that if you get an air cooled reflector and a 220 cfm fan you should be ok with your temps

was thinkin 400 watt and temp wud b easier controlled

a 400 watt only gives you 4100 lumens/sqft while the ideal lumens/sqft is 5000 or more.
