Hps Lighting question????

Alright ive never grew anything with an hps light before.... So how many inches should the hps light be away from the tops of the plants....? or do you do just like fluros couple inches away from the plants and move it as they grow.....any help would be appreciated...thanks in advance

What about brand new cuttings with a 400 watt HPS mate..The same distance apart aswell??

Brand new cuttings may not take well to the HPS until they have roots and are ready to grow. I (and I think most people) start cuttings under flourescents, either compact or the long type. If you are going to go with it, I would put it way away from the cuttings, like 5 feet away, maybe more.
