I started my seeds in 6in Jiffy pots and my roots are starting to show through the bottom and I'm going to transplant into 1gal. containers until they show sex.

When transplanting do i have to cut the Jiffy pot away or can i just put the whole thing in new growing medium?

one of jiffypots "claims to fame" is that the roots will grow right through the pots, no removal necessary. Hooooowever.... IME, they can tend to inhibit root growth. Roots will grow through, but it takes time and impedes growth somewhat.
I don't think total removal is partticularly necessary, but "I" would at least split the pot on all sides before up=potting..;)
