Has anyone purchased the 400w MH and/or the 400w HPS Sylvanna bulbs from Lowes? The prices are awesome. I didn't know if they would work in a digital ballast or not.

I know where I am getting my next bulb. I have that same hps bulb that cost me $43 through a local grow shop when I first bought my unit (jerks lol)

there ya go, for the same price you can buy two:D I"d keep a spare for sure.

Heck yeah, I almost fell over when I saw that. I was walking by bulbs on my way to RO machines and wondered what a 75w hps looks like and found the 400's ;)

What it is is hydro shops ripp you off, they sell "lights for growing"
But these same lights have been used for industrial lighting for years.

I can see where spending 80+ on a 400w hps may be beneficial since the sylvania is operating at 50,000 lumens and not 55,000 lumens. However, I will do just fine paying $19.00 and running 50,000 lumens in a 3' x 2.5' x 7'h area. ;)

This is what I dont understand.

http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=50269 $80+ dollar bulb

$29 dollar lowes.

The lowes bulb has 3,000 more lumen and 1/4 the price. Kelvin is 4,200 (wide spectrum.) Im going to lowes or home depot from now on for my 400w. I pulled the same bulb from plantlightinghydroponics.com because lowes doesn't show the specs on that bulb.

Because it's the:

SUNMASTER

LOL, just paying for a brand name and hype, IMHO.
