yay or nay (only at night by the way)?
i like to spritz them down, cool off after a long day. is this a bad thing?

IMO you can mist with water anytime. When they are in nature all of the water they get is "misted" on them via rain. Using nutes to foliar feed seems to cause problems. Obviously this doesn't apply if the nute is designed to be used via foliar feeding (i.e. Dutch Master Reverse).

People usually just foliar when there's nute lock>roots not taking up nutes for whatever reason

It depends where you live, if you have very low humidty, then misting would be the answer, but misting when flowering, I guess that can sometimes pose a problem.
