this is a system I'm putting together work in progress let me no what I should do holds 18 plants what size res is that little pump going to cut it first hydro so any tips also where should I put the hole to drain back to res on the end right and have a gentale slope

Dont know what the power of the pump, or the rise, or the id of the fill line is. You need to calculate your head pressure. Or just test it empty ; )
I've endured the pains of a commercial basil nft system and it's a challenge, to say the least. That type of system can be easily converted to ebb n flow if you get stuck, though!
 
I don't know if you have ever grown hydroponically, but I see real problems with the roots totally filling those pipes and not letting any water through. It was not unusual at all for me to have 5 gal buckets almost totally filled with roots.
