Veg CFLs

I was at Lowes and I saw some CFL's that were 6400k and they were mad cheap like 30watt bulbs like $3.50 gave out like 2000lumens. And saw the 6500k 65watt was around $24 it gave out like 3500lumens . My question is will the 6400k cfl's work well for vegetating or are the 6500k that much better ?? TY

They are about the same. You could get either, as long as they are around that Kelvin rating.

6400K to 6500K is not enough to make a difference.... i'd go with the cheaper 30 watters and get more of them.... the math is simple:

1 65W Cfl = 3500 lumens and 65 watts of power consumed

2 30W Cfl's = 4000 lumens and 60 watts of power consumed

it would seem to me that the 30W bulbs are a bit more efficient than the 65W bulbs....

I've got the 65watt it burns a red spectrum.
