I was wondering when should I start giving outdoor plants a fertilizer with a higher PK on the west coast? Is it the beginning of September?

I am having a problem with slugs eating my outdoor plants. What should I use to deter/kill them? What kinds of things have you guys found to work?

I don't know if this will help you but I just heard in an instructional video that I watched last night that you should use a pot that is the same amount of gallons as you want height, i.e. a 1 gallon pot for a 1 ft plant, a 2 gallon pot for a 2 ft plant and so on.

You could always get one off ebay. I haven't been able to find any 30x magnifying glass either, so I think I am just going to go with the Radio Shack microscope.

I am a new grower and I was wondering how to get my plants more bushy, with bigger leaves. As an example bigbudsbruddah's young plants look very nice. On the other hand, my plants are kinda pathetic. Is it mostly about the lighting or fertilizer? Or is it just the strain?

I was surprised to find out just how much a draw leaving a computer on 24/7 is. Apparently you can reduce your electric bill by 15% just by turning your computer off when you aren't using it. Thanks for all the suggestions so far, I am definitely going to be implementing some of them in my home.

I was just wondering what is the problem with bringing an outdoor strain indoors and vice versa? Do they just not grow as well?

I am currently using 4 ft fluorescents for veg, and I plan to switch over to cfls but I wasn't sure what bulbs to choose (i.e Daylight, Full Spectrum, Soft White etc.). Also is it more important to get high lumens or high watts, the reason I ask is because I have seen 27 watt cfls with higher...

Some people use Sunshine Mix #1 or #4, pretty much any gardening store will have it. I use #4.

That appears to be a better deal than buying the two separate lights...I guess it depends how much the reflector is going to cost.
