    Harvest Question

Did you know trichomes swell and shrink in stages? So it may appear to someone that peak harvest has passed and degradation has begun but within a couple of days the trichomes swell again with increased vigour. This unfortunately is not well documented by people. THC is abundant in resin heads...

Or? Do some research. It couldn't hurt ;)

    Harvest Question

Hey FUM I don't know if you harvested yet but in my opinion if the hairs are still sticking out and are bright white then they aren't ready. Contrary to what everyone who posted seems to think, it's NOT all about the trichomes. They are an important part of judging a plants ripeness. To ignore...

    Frost?

I looked up that site Hippy. Clever little Zimbabweyan! A neat trick to know for the future.

    Black Molasses

Ok thanks for that 420Benny. I had no idea! I don't wanna offend anyone. Out of curiosity, is that for legal reasons? Sites don't wanna be associated with our favourite topic of discussion?

    Black Molasses

Yo FUM. Molasses is commonly used as bloom stimulant in the flowering cycle of a plant. It contains an array of micronutrients and is high in sugar which allegedly helps marijuana produce "fatter buds". However I have used during vegetative growth as well and the plants have responded very well...

    potassium defiency with pics

Thanks Budders! It's good to learn these things. I'm glad I didn't take any more drastic action which is always the temptation. Like I said things are looking pretty good for the moment. In fact the plant in question rocketed up in the last week! Maybe the molasses did something after all!

    potassium defiency with pics

Thanks for the response jman. It took about a week but I finally got one! I thought the problem was a potassium def so I amended with some molasses which seemed to work. In hindsight it was only the bottom set of leaves that was affected (not cotelydons) and I heard somewhere that is not...

    potassium defiency with pics

Hey guys. I have a couple of plants that are nearly 6 weeks into veg and I've got a suspected potassium deficiency on one of them. There is yellowing to brown spots around the leaf edges and the leaves appear very brittle and some have lacerations on them. I remedied it yesterday by adding some...

    Won't stop raining

It depends. I live in Ireland and you know the weather here. Rain one minute sunshine the next! Soil is semi-dry now so I think I'm gonna water this evening even though there is rain expected tomorrow. They need some nutes already! Thanks for the clearcut answers as always Hippy!

    magnesium deficiency

Hey bud. I am considering adding some Epsom as well and was thinking the same thing. I always believe you should "feed the soil, not the plant" but I guess it might depend on how much of the plant seems to be suffering a deficiency. I don't think it would hurt to do both. But if I had to...

    Won't stop raining

Hey guys this is a bit of problem. I have been all over the net and cant seem to find this specific question answered. My plants are coming up on a month. I am doing a full on organic, outdoor grow in garden soil which for the most part has been highly educational and enjoyable (apart from some...

    I am soooo freaked out!

You have dealt with it all so well. A real test of character. I just imagined myself in your shoes and "freaking out" doesnt even begin to describe it! You're right though. It's like the Gestapo or something. Being treated like a criminal when you're growing some plants?!? For your own...

Is it game over for this seedling?

Thanks Hippy. As speedy as ever with your response! Yeah it's still green and healthy looking for the moment so you never know. I just really wanted this one to make it because I germinated it directly in my garden soil. The natural way. I really didn't expect it to come up!

Is it game over for this seedling?

Yesterday I was very excited to see that one of the seeds I had planted directly into my garden soil had come through after just 5 days. It was about an inch or so high with the two cotyledon and two "true" leaves showing. I placed a small mesh fence around it to protect it overnight from...

    germinating in attic

I'm currently germinating some bud. I have placed them in small pots filled with moistened potting soil and covered with a styrofoam cup to trap humidity. I'm putting them in my attic to start as its gets quite hot up there and I think it will be a good atmosphere to germ in. What do people...

    best way to retain moisture?????

That's strange. Good store bought soil should have both good water retension and drainage. Perlite could be the answer for you then. You should check it out online. The grow vidz on this site show you how to use it.
