I just picked up Magnesium Sulphate, I am not sure how to mix this with my plant. I am only growing one plant at a time because of the mg deficiencies. I am growing outside in soil in 6 inch pots . I am storing the nutes in 1/2 gal and 1 gal, so it very hard to figure out the doses. Do I mix in the soil or the nutes? The main question is how much to I mix. Thanks.

Uh ... I found this rather confusing. Only growing one plant at a time because of the Mg deficiencies? Maybe because you only have a small grow tent, or because you're gonna be moving home, or because of LEO, or ... but Mg?
Second, 6 inch pots? Tiny! Try 5 gallon pots instead.
Why do you think your plants have Mg deficiency? At any rate if they do, you simply water them with some MgSO4, you don't mix solid MgSO4 with the soil.
Don't forget to add a little dolomite lime too ... Ca and Mg go together.
Best of luck!

I'm a bit confused by one plant at a time etc... So you got some Epsom Salts, right? You can water it at about a tsp per gal. A little goes a long way and you won't hurt your plant even if it has some other type of deficiency. To correct a deficiency I'd water some in but you can also successfully use it in a soil mix. I've gone to using Subcool's super soil mix (the top Indoor Growing Forum Stickie) and I've gone to putting it in my soil mix and his recipe only calls for 3/4 of a cup per 8 bags of soil.

I agree with Leafminer that Ca and Mg go together and Botanicare Cal/Mag might be a better option than Epsom salts...

Happy Growing!

I usually grow 4 plants at a time, but I have been having mg deficiencies issue. I cut back my plants to one veg and one flower until I get a better handle on this. I grow very small plants because I was living in an apartment and growing on the upper deck. I just bought a house and plan on growing bigger plants, but I need to fix the mg issue. I have been posting my pics on the sick plants and problem section as I did last night. Mg deficiencies is what everybody tells me. Do I mix the magnesium in one gal of my f/f nutes, this means that every time I feed them they get mg, or do I make up 1 gal of water and feed her once. I use happy frog for soil which had dolomite. I will use magnesium to see if it helps and will pick up Cal/Mag next time I go to my favorite store. I hope I cleared up some things. Thanks.
