was going to make my own soil mix using organic soil, perlite, mushroom compost, and dolimite lime. anyone know what percentages i should mix and is there anything i should add?:D

I had prbs with mushroom compost being too compacted and clumpy. I'd go light on it and add other goodies.

Here's a decent, very basic soil mix to help you gauge your proportions...

50% composted soil
25-30% worm castings
15% chunky perlite
5% Dolomite lime, guanos, etc..

Like Mutt mentioned... the mushroom compost tends ot compact so you'll need plenty of perlite to keep the soil mix draining well... Worm castings are another great amendment if you can get them locally. They are too heavy to make shipping feasible. Indoor garden/hydro shops carry them and some of the better garden centers/nurseries may have them. They are a great amendment for nute value and soil structure and could be used along with your mushroom compost.

Happy Growing!

thanks for the info all. hey dirty when you say composted soil what do you mean exactly. do you buy composted soil or do you make that yourself at home ?
