2nd grow, trying dwc this time. Here is the setup. I upgraded and got ph pen and ppm pen. Using FF nutes. Same fem gelato and Cinderella seeds from last grow. Was happy with the buds, hoping to get more weight with just 2 plants this time.

And their off! I have my sf1000 at 40% any recommendations on power of light early on w/hydro??

Never seen baskets that big. Sets way down in the bucket. Sure takes up a lot of your 5 gallon bucket.

My train of thought is that I want to leave small space where I can see water level w/o lifting. Will I really need that much space for roots? I also have to consider that I am switching out ice bottles every 12 hours to keep water at temp, so I’m lifting daily anyways (and those bottles take up space) now would be time to move higher if it’s a must in your opinion?

So far so good. One that looks a little yellow has 1/6 nutes and other has even less. Having an issue keeping water temp below 72. Ice bottles only work for four hours and I can be away for 12 at a time so... I may be screwed w/o a chiller im afraid

They are coming along nicely, burnt tips are from a water change that I forgot to add calmag, noticed drooping after literally minutes and changed back to old water until I figured out what I did wrong

I've never done DWC and am curious, what generates your heat...I have that issue with aerocloners, they cook my greens...

Issue is room temp is 75, water from what I’ve read needs to stay under 68. I don’t have a chiller. So far just fans and a little help from ice bottles is doing the trick, but as root structure gets larger and fills bucket, this will be issue I know.

They both doing well. One is getting out of control, never seen growth like this in soil! Water has 2.5 ml ph down, 15 ml FF nutes, 5 ml calmag. Water ph ends at 6.0, ppm 440. Will add more nutes with each weekly water change

So I thought of something brilliant I learned from home brewing beer. You need similar temp, just below room temp, 68. You achieve this by wrapping carboy or buckets in this case w/towels, wet them & place in pool of water that will naturally keep towel moist, then aim fans at bucket. Put ice in pool every 12 hours and your golden!

Switching to flower a full week early, these are doing well DESPITE avg 71f water and higher avg ph at 6.9...ppms I’m increasing gradually from 200 range to 400 range which is also very low consulting my ff nute chart that says 1260-1400. My digital pen is calibrated and measures 0 in distilled. Am I missing out on something or maxing out my small set up? All opinions welcome! 🙏

New water is doing fine. My tap is 8.0, so 3.5 ml ph down, 15 ml big bloom, 10ml calmag, 5ml grow big, 5ml tiger bloom, 5ml hydrogaurd w3.5 gallons = 960 ppm 6.5 ph. Temp of water never higher than 77, avg is 70f
