clones for sexing

i am looking to pull one clone off each of my plants to sex them. i am going to put the clones in a glass of water, under 12 12 to force sex. my question is how big dose this first clone have to be? after i determine the sex i plan on discarding the clone.

4 inches is perfect. Cut just above a branching. Take one from the very top of each plant. The place you take them from will split into two branches. The hormones in the cuttings that are present because it is the very top of the plant, will make the cuttings sex quicker.
