how to tell when ready to harvest

hello all and happy sunday.

how can I tell my plants are ready. I do NOT have a magnifine glass.

about 70-80% of the pistels are red/brown. I know flowering them too long with result in loss of thc.

they are in week six of flowering now. so should be about right?

I pruned a little yesterday, flash dried it and it got my high.

should I cut them down.

get a magnifying glass at radioshack. you have to check trichome development to tell for sure. peace and good luck

.......for "my" taste, very few strains finish under 8 weeks of flowering.

I agree with Medicore and Hick, you should buy a 20x-30x magnifying class at Radio Shack, (about 10 bucks), and that will tell you for sure, but IMHO, I would wait at least 2 more weeks if not 3. You are at the most difficult stage of your grow because it is sooo hard to be patient and not cut them down. GL on your ladies.
