How bad does it hurt the pot's potency if you leave a male in with females long enough to just make say 20 seeds in two medium sized plants?

Unless you collect the pollen, and seed the females yourself, it will be very hard to control how many pistils get seeded. Check this out: http://www.marijuanapassion.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5958

I don't know if there's a general rule of thumb for how much the potency is reduced.. but you should still get some decent bud out of it. It shouldn't 'ruin your crop'. I can't begin to remember all the fat buds I've seen that were filled with seeds.
