Were you in darkness with only the flash for the light?

My camera had a lux flash system, i can alter the power of the flash, i must admit i took 6 pics of it degrading the light of the flash so the background foliage was not lit and only the flower, i was in late dusk.

Dmack, the darkness was the backdrop, I had to use the conditions with a modern tech camera, using science to capture nature, the outcome was past my expectations.
