My pythons would eat anything, but some of my bigger rat snakes wouldn't touch a gerbil. They'd kill 'em, but they wouldn't eat 'em. You stick a mouse/rat in a snake cage, they walk around oblivious. You stick a gerbil in a snake cage, the first thing they'll do is attack the snake. They always lost, but they got in the first bite.
