im confused, when growing with soil, do u check the ph of that soil or of the water before u pour it into the pot??...

i had a cheap plastic ph meter for soil but i feel like that thing doesnt work at all....how much for a decent one that gets the job done..i dnt want to spend a lot...

both check the soil about once a week and always check the water b4 u give it 2 them
good soil ph testers r like $20

do u check the water's ph with the same scale u use to measure the soil's ph?

Check the water ph and the ph of the run off, then adjust the water/nutes accordingly.

:yeahthat: Just worry about the water in, and the water out. Adjust according.

lol not sure what that means..."water in, and water out".....please elaborate

redeye...check ph of the water you are using....should be 6.3 to 6.8 ....then check the run off water that comes out the botton of you pot...by keeping trackof both you`ll know how ot adjust the ph of the water..

Redeye, get a digital pH meter. You use that to check the pH of the watering solution and runoff. Do not use it to check the soil pH directly; that will ruin the instrument.
