Clone lighting?

Using a 3 inch clone with a few nice leaves in a pot of soil, how much light would i want to be showering them with? i mean the timing. 2 hours per day till root? more or less?

i keep my clones in Florescent veg room, 18 hours of light, 6 inches from the tops of the plants

I go 24 hours of light on my plants in the veg stage, fluorescent, within 6 inches like he said.

oh, and this is before roots have developed btw.. i just remembered to add that. =/ i thought it grows during nightime and sucks up light energy during the day.

they "stretch" during dark, searching for the missing light. Not necessari;y a "good" thing..
