King Bud, I hear you on lucid dreaming. I do it a lot, I rather have a lucid dreaming than do any drug in the book! It's unbelievable, I will get into some of my dreams a little later when I have more time.

GOOD POST.

Either you have good focus, and concentration, or they were "False Awaenings."

Not saying it's either way, but I wanted to share my absolute favorite false awakening, it's quick, I promise. I was dreaming that I met a man, who taught me how travel back in time. Then I woke up and I was an hour and a half late for work. I had all the panic and fear that you feel when you do that. (We're a website of stoners, who here hasn't done that?) But, then I remembered, I had the power to go back in time. I literally blinked my eyes, and it was 3 hours earlier, and I was wide awake.

That was a mindblower. And since I know it's impossible to learn to go back in time in your sleep, I have to chalk it up to a false awakening.

I don't see time running in a straight line. Time is a perception, I don't know about time travel or going back in time. I was in a plane that was crashing time slowed down, in those few minutes I could recalled my lifes history, is seemed it seemed like a hour had past but it was only a few moments. Some of you may have done lsd or shrooms, you know what I am talking about.
When your having fun time flies. When you want time to speed up like your waiting for that bud to grow time seems to slow down.
Or how about when your were a kid, compared to when your old.

I see my mind wandering now (Stoned)

what a wonderfully interesting thread;

I love hearing about the dreams of others.

I have had many dreams that warn me of up coming changes in my life.

my husband has a repetitive dream of being a soldier in the revolutionary war and he shoots and kills a Indian warrior who is about to kill him. he can even describe the field and woods and fence row this happens.

my husband is Indian, this dream always haunts him. he is obsessed with war movies.

I myself have never had the same dream twice.

I do love to control my dreams when I am aware I am dreaming. so much fun to change things instantly while in this state of awareness.

I sometimes find myself dreaming wildly when I eat certain foods too close to bedtime but only if I lay off the bong for a couple hours 1st ;)

smoking definately interferes with my perception of my dreams, but by the end of 8 hours sleeping, I'm dreaming along nicely

I started studying lucid dreaming in college as an undergraduate at Purdue, it was some interesting stuff :aok:

I found by writing down my dream sequences right when I had them, waking just to write em down on pad by bed, I could remember them better, then after some practice, I was able to manipulate the dreams, eventually dreaming what ever I consciously chose and thus working out waking time issues in a dream state :hubba:

I can never remember my dreams. I can only remember about 5 throughout my entire life. And none of them off the top of my head. Except the one where I was attacked by Jason Vorhees, somehow managed to turn him into a good guy, (At this point I figured out I was dreaming.) I decided to try to fly. I told Jason to throw me, to be sure I got a good liftoff. (I was like, 13 at the time) He threw me, and I faceplanted into the tar road. All in all, I'm glad I don't remember my dreams. If that is one of the normal, they suck.

When I was a kid, around 9 yrs old I began having a strange recurrent dream. At the time it was incredibly scary, since I was a little kid...

My dad abducted me from my mom and we lived in a run-down trailor in the middle of some lush woods. My dad grew monstrous ammounts of marijuana. We were about to be caught. There were helicoptors flying overhead, and we were about to be raided by the cops. I was in the bathroom trying to flush all that I could.

I had that dream probably about 5 times as a young kid/early teen.

I have no idea what prompted it either. I didn't know if my dad smoked or not, and it was a few years before I tried any mj. The dream was so scary and would always leave me quite shaken for a day or so afterword. :p

??? How so? Like I said, it happened several times and had quite a scary impact. :p

31+9

I was having a joke with you

I dont seem to be able to remember old dreams, I can remember back to when I was aged 4 though.

I used to have a re occuring dream where I was standing outside a fish and chip shop, there was an alsation dog barking at me and snarling, I had to get away but the only way was behind me into the fish and chip shop, the shop was full and I had nowhere to go.

As the dog barked at me I jumped in fright, as I was in the air I realised I could fly so I flew over a tall wall to escape, as I flew I flew over my old house and I could see myself younger as if in the past, standing outside with my old chopper bike, as this stage I tried to slow down and realised although I could fly, I could not stop, I carried on past my old home and saw a building in front of me, I hit it, as I recoiled off the building I started to fall to the floor, it is at this point I always woke up.

The above dream coincided with reaching puberty, so it must mean something.

Leaving childhood behind maybe.

When I was pregnant I remember dreaming my baby was born and was purple with orange spots. It was horrifying. True story!

The real question is why we have dreams in the first place. This is still debated in scientific circles.

I hate dreaming. I never have good dreams, I always wake up scared out my mind. I'm even afraid to go to sleep. I won't talk about mine.

My dude, download that attachment for that lucid dreaming book. Lucid dreaming is like you're not even sleeping. It's like entering another world, can do anything you want, should read that book, and try to gain the ability. :aok:

I love dreaming.

Daydreams

Daydreaming is classified as a level of consciousness between sleep and wakefulness. Studies show that we all have the tendency to daydream an average of 70-120 minutes a day. It occurs during our waking hours when we let our imagination carry us away. As our minds begin to wander and our level of awareness decreases, we lose ourselves in our imagined scenario and fantasy.

False Awakening Dreams

Ever thought you were awake and going about your morning routine of getting up, brushing your teeth, eating breakfast and going to work only to wake up "again" and realize that was just a dream. That sensation is referred to as a false awakening.

Lucid Dreams

Lucid dreams occurs when you realize you are dreaming. "Wait a second. This is only a dream!" Most dreamers wake themselves up once they realize that they are only dreaming. Other dreamers have cultivated the skill to remain in the lucid state of dreaming. They become an active participant in their own dreams, making decisions in their dreams and influencing the dream's outcome without awakening.

Nightmare

A nightmare is a disturbing dream that causes the dreamer to wake up feeling anxious and frightened. Nightmares may be a response to real life trauma and situations. These type of nightmares fall under a special category called Post-traumatic Stress Nightmare (PSN). Nightmares may also occur because we have ignored or refused to accept a particular life situation. Research shows that most people who have regular nightmares have had a family history of psychiatric problems, bad drug experiences, people who have contemplated suicide, and/or rocky relationships. Nightmares are an indication of a fear that needs to be acknowledged and confronted. It is a way for our subconscious to make up take notice. "Pay attention!"

Recurring Dreams

Recurring dreams repeat themselves with little variation in story or theme. These dreams may be positive, but most often they are nightmarish in content. Dreams may recur because a conflict depicted in the dream remains unresolved or ignored. Once you have found a resolution to the problem, your recurring dreams will cease.

Healing Dreams

Healing dreams serve as messages for the dreamer in regards to their health. Many dream experts believe that dreams can help us avoid potential health problems and help us to heal when we are ill. Our bodies are able to communicate to us through our dreams to "tell" us that something is not quite right with our bodies even before any physical symptoms show up. Dreams of this nature may be telling the dreamer that he/she needs to go to the dentist or doctor.

Prophetic Dreams

Prophetic dreams, also referred to as precognitive or psychic dreams, are dreams that seemingly foretell the future. One rational theory to explain this phenomenon is that our dreaming mind is able to piece together bits of information and observation that we normally overlook or that we do not seriously consider. In other words, our unconscious mind knows what is coming before we consciously piece together the same information.

Signal Dreams

Signal dreams help you how to solve problems or make decisions in your waking life.

Epic Dreams

Epic dreams (also known as Great Dreams or Cosmic Dreams) are so huge, so compelling, and so vivid that you cannot ignore them. The details of such dreams remain with you for years, as if your dreamt it last night. These dreams possess much beauty and contain many archetypal symbology. When you wake up from such a dream, you feel that you have discovered something profound or amazing about yourself or about the world. It feels like a life-changing experience

I've had the same reoccurring dream for years. I'm in Iraq, My squad is on top of a building and we're moving from rooftop to rooftop. There are ropes that we hang underneath to move about. when it's my turn to go to the next rooftop i get about half way across when we are attacked. i fall but my rifle gets caught. i end up on the ground with nothing but my side arm and only a few rounds. Both my legs break and i can't move, as i'm swarmed i unload my side arm, but run out of ammo quickly. i see my self lifted and carried away by insurgents and that's when i usually wake up. i'm not a fan of sleep or dreaming, guess i should try this lucid dreaming. fortunately i can operate on about 4 hours of sleep, and i rarely sleep long enough to get into deep dreams anymore. I've heard that once we're asleep we all dream, but i rarely remember mine anymore.
