hello, quick question.....if i choose to ebb and flow...cant i just take seedlings from a 1.5" rockwool cube...place it on hydroton, and water by hand daily? why do i see so many ebb, flow systems with hydroton exsposed to light? dont the roots get hit by light?

roots can get hit by light but not in a direct way , with enough pellets you can limit root exposure , pellets are light in weight, do not compact and are completely reusable - they can be cleaned and sterilised after use. They are also inert, pH neutral and do not contain any nutrients. The pellets drain freely and do not hold any excessive water, which is why they provide good oxygen levels around the root and why they are particularly suitable for flood and drain systems.
