EGGSHELLS:

If you make a hard-boiled egg, save the shell. It contains 93% Calcium Carbonate and 5% Phosphate and magnesium + 2 % Sulpher.

Sprinkling the shells around an outdoor plant to seriously deters slugs. Encourages strong root growth. They will also raise the PH of your soil, ideal when in a Pine Forest.

COFFEE GROUNDS:

They have a tendancy to lock up the Nitrogen.
Contains tannic acid.
Use them early on so they have time to decompose and slowly release Nitrogen.
The grounds seem to be neutral on the PH Scale. Keeps the weeds at bay and also repels slugs and snails.

:D

Say your soil outside is clay and/or alkaline...........then u have a solution!
Then compost your coffee grounds first.
Starbucks offers free used grounds to plant growers.
You just have to ask for them.
