Why do i have kids growing faster then others

hey everyone lets see. I planted about 200 kids and i have some kids that allready have 2 sets of branches about 12 inch high and others that look like the just sprouted up (the ones that look like they just sprouted have been the same size for like 2 weeks ) all my kids have the same soil and room temp and light. I am going to keep logs on these plants to figure out early sexing.

I have 1 kid that is about 6 inch away from the light and seem like he or she does not like the light because it keeps shifting its self away from it (any idea's) all my other kids love the light 2 to 3 1/2 inches away.

Some of them could be males and or more rigorous plants. It's said that plants have their own personalities. I'm betting that's not true, but who knows. =)

12" and 2 sets of branches sounds like they are stretching bad.
What kind of lighting are you using and how far away is the light?
