buddy went on vacation afor 8 days with a dripper going,he swore the plants were all cloudy, came home to these are they ruined or not.

Ugh... well, heavily sedated you shall be. The trichomes on the leaves do develop amber faster than the buds, but your buds likely have a fair amount of amber now too. The buds are the ultimate guide to harvest, not the leaves.
