when u guys clone in soil. after clipping or topping and dipping the stem in rooting hormone. do you pre-water your soil or do you water after the clone is set in place. i want opinions on this. i didnt know if watering after the fact would wash away the rooting powder... thanks for any replies!
 
Me too, then take a pencil or something similar and make a hole for the clone to slip in. Then, just skootch the soil back up against the stalk and you have it. Yes, skootch is a technical term:hubba:

prewater the soil, no nutes, after the cutting is planted, push the soil around the stem, i usually give it a little more water, just to seat the soil in place around the base of the stem.
