Hello all. I was curious to know if anyone has experience with and or perhaps done a side by side utilizing ceramic metal halides, and what their opinion. My buddy is really hyping the new CMH's.

buddy at grow store said cmh typically come in 3k or 4k bulbs. they're a wide spectrum bulb that gives a whiter light than usual. cmh lights are used from start to finish(veg and flower)... they are being pushed by manufacturers.. u have to run (2)cmh to cover a 600watt mh.. (3) cmh to cover a thousand watt bulb... they (cmh) will cover a slightly larger area using the added fixtures..cmh do not have air cooled capability. they do have a two year life vs a one year for reg. mh... hope this helps

the whole light thing is about PAR. CMH produce more usable light for the plant. In the 400nm to 700nm range, so it's not so much about wattage.
