We will be building a 2 fan and duct silencers. I do want quiet. Do you feel its necessary 2 build a silencer on each end of the 10" fan? I do want this thing quiet. Or is it waste of material and time?

When I get supplies I will post show progress and let you guys know how I worked.

Just use some oversize flexible duct 6' or longer. That should quiet it down a bit.

Put the fans in a box lots of DIY on the net for that. Second use insulated ducting the good stuff and if it's still not quiet enough put a silencer on the out point of the fan .

Would perlite insulation be good? Found a big bag for 12 bucks more than enough to do 2 fan boxes.

what type of fan is it, and how is it mounted?

Mounting the hyperfans to a board then putting vibration pad under that and enclosing the whole thing in a constructed mdf box with holes for ducting on ends. Packing box full of perlite insulation. Hopefully it quiets down tremendously.
