I know small drones have small cameras that you can load an SD microcard into. Might be cool to see if you can get an ‘inflight movie’ from some of your planes.

I had a camera but it didn’t survive a pond swim😂. I do fly some of my stuff first person though with a camera and goggles.

Progress. Finished the Wonder last weekend.
Finishing up another Quickie 500 for a friend. I think the next project will be my 1/4 scale Cessna 182. It just needs a new wing spar, and a good going over. Hasn’t flown in around ten years so I need to check everything out. Probably a new carburetor for the 38cc Zenoah engine. She has around a 7 foot wingspan and weighs around 15 pounds. Can’t wait to see it fly.

Went and flew a few birds today. The Mustang flew well with its landing gear adjustments. Tuned another bird to run without nitromethane in the fuel. And had a battery disconnect on takeoff and lost radio signal. Plane went in nose first. I may rebuild it. Luckily the ground was soft. The engine was 13 inches deep! Engine should be ok. That’s the only thing that would hurt my feelings if I lost it.

Finished the cowling on the mustang. It’s hacked up. Definitely should have done a better job. Took it to the field and then left the gas can at home lol. Flew the wonder. It’s fast, most of the flights were at 1/3 throttle. Getting closer to finishing my friends Quickie 500. I found a wing spar for my 95 inch Cessna 182, after searching the internet for over an hr. So that project is getting close to hitting the work table.

Whew. Rough couple days. We caught the funk for a few days. Good news is my gastrointestinal system is cleansed and reset 😂. Pulled the guts out of the crashed Kaos to install in this prebuilt Dauntless Divebomber.
The Wonder got some new vinyl.

Wonder is finished😂
Finished my friend quickie 500 this morning. She’s a looker. We are going to fly it Saturday and snap some pics with mine. They are twins.
Now I can reorganize my workshop. it’s a mess down there. Have an engine swap to do, and I still cannot make up my mind on the next project. I have everything for a 40 inch span P-47, and I have a kit for an Aeronco Citabria. I just can’t make up my mind.

Started a new project. A Champion Citabria kit. I started the wing and realized my table is sagging!! Crooked table makes crooked wings. Had to stop, will add a set of legs in the center with an adjustable foot to get the table just right. May add a brace in after that. Glad I caught it. It’s a little more than 1/8 inch off on a four foot length.

The Citabria is coming along. Joined one wing half to the center section this morning. Probably around 4 hours in so far.

Recovered my first plane. After 25 years the covering was brittle. The Citabria is coming along nicely. The P-47 is slowly coming along. It’s a head scratcher for me. No instructions, just a few suggestions from the original builder/plan drawer. I traced the parts on Mylar tracing material. Then traced it out on the wood. Cutting the wood by hand is a tedious task.

Got the bushplane back in the air. Two years ago I started robbing parts off it for other planes.
Ran out of fuel three minutes into the flight. Odd, but I figured with a larger engine and running richer than normal, oh well. Three flights later I lost signal completely for a few seconds. Came right in and landed. When I took the wing off the fuselage was sloshing fuel around! Apparently I drilled a hole in the fuel tank. Radio was swimming in methanol. Glad I didn’t lose the bird. Time for baby powder to pull the oils out of the wood. And a $50 radio goes in the trash. Oh well. Good thing I don’t work on real planes lol.
The Citabria is stalled. The kit was missing a piece of wood, the manufacturer is in the process of moving across the country and are of no help. Local shop doesn’t have the 1/8 inch plywood so until the mail order comes in it’s dead in the water. She’s looking like a real plane though.
