A First/Second Grow

The 2 CFLs you are using are only going to be enough light for a short time. As they grow, you are going to need substantially more/better light (3000 lumens per sq ft for vegging and 5000 lumens per sq ft for flowering). You are also going to need some ventilation. Plants need a constant supply of fresh CO2.

already got 2 more lights to go in, another 3500 lumens for vegging also have the ventilation already taken care of also. Thanks for your help.

Her hubby being a pc tech. Goin to rig up pc vent fans for intake and exhaust, and have a cpu cooling squirrel cage fan for air circulation inside (if needed). I will be able to run them off low amp ac adapters. For a small area, this should be sufficient, correct?

Day 9 Starting to grow second set of leaves. Even the deformed one is coming along. Temps stay around 70. Will be updating light and ventilation in the next day or two. Also been looking into the tents, thinking one of those would be good to have......:watchplant:

Just placed an order for some beans...this is what im getting

White Widow
Alaskan Ice
and this is my free one UFO # 1 Dinafem Seeds Powerkush Feminized

anyone have good results with these

just a little update. 3 of the babies are doing great already starting their 3rd set of leaves. The one that looked funny, dont think its going to make it. Its looking sad. Updated the room also, have took the foil down and have painted the walls white.

White widow can and will get huge, if you give it TLC. It was the largest plant I have ever grown, outdoors at least. Came in around 1.75lb's dry. Just cant go wrong with it, just soooooo much THC. Nice job on the flat white paint.

I know its seems overwhelming with all the set up and intial costs. But once its dialed in, it will run itself for the most part. The equipment will last years. My advice, unless there is a local hydro store nearby, have a backup plan if something fails on you.

Thanks NV, Slowly getting it dialed in while they still little. Too much of a pain to try and do when they start getting big. Its getting so bright in there now that you cant hardly see, make my husband go blind for a second. lol
Can just imagine what it will be when i put 2 more bulbs( for a total of 6, 10500 lumens)

:watchplant:

Took these today.

02/11/10 tomorrow they will be 2 wks old from germ.

You are going to need WAY more light. I would really encourage you to look at a HPS for flowering, rather than to keep on buying CFLs. Even with 6 bulbs in there and 10,500 lumens, this only gives you enough light for 3-1/2 sq ft during veg and about 2 sq ft for flowering. Lumen for lumen, CFLs cost more to purchase initially, cost more to operate every single month, put out more heat, and produce substantially less bud than a HPS.

I am running 190,000 lumens in a closet that is 3-1/3' x 6'--now, that is bright!

My room is only 2x2x5. I plan on changing light for flowering, that is a couple months away. I am currently working on getting a totally separate room ready for flowering. By then i will be back to work and be able to afford all the stuff i need.

The babies are 16 days old today, the one that looked deformed didn't make it. The others are all growing at a different rate. have put the ventilation in, intake/out. Temps are staying at 70-74.

Things are looking good in the veg room. Tomorrow they will be 3 wks old. They got put into 1 1/2 g pots yesterday and this morning the really seem to like it. the biggest one is starting to grow it 5 fingered leaves.
Painting the walls flat white has really made a difference. Thank to all the advice given so far.

My seed order from tude should be here any day. All are fem.

Good. On those fem seeds. It is crucial that you do not stress them at all, through there life cycle.

Thnks NV. I am not going to do anything with them until the grow I'm doing now is done. Want to learn everything i can with this bag seed grow before I start the fem's. I will be creating me a second grow room. that way i have one for veg and one for flower. I have been doing a lot of studying since Ive started. Getting all the knowledge I can.

They definitely are liking the bigger pots. Growth has been fast the last couple days. Temps are still staying from 70-74 with lights on and the lowest with lights off has been 68. have started feeding nutes 1/4 strength.
I talk to them everyday. Thinking about vegging them for another 5 wks then throwing them to 12/12. Since this is just a test run with bagseed to get my room dialed in. Then i will start my fem seeds.

Here some pics of kids now

Plants are really loving their bigger pots. Have seen some serious growth since they have been transplanted. Have been debating on weither or not throwing them into flower now or waiting a little bit. I just received my order of fem seeds today, I got g13 ww, ufo dinafem power kush, and seedsman ww. The seeds look kindof small to me but since im new to this, dont know what they should look like. The bagseeds i saved were alot bigger and healthier looking.

Im really wanting to see what the bagseed does, they are looking really good.

Will have some pic update later today
