Ok so yesterday was working on putting plants in the ground up to them had no issues with animals earlier I went to water a few plants and something dug in a newly planted plant and smashed another

I wonder if they smelled the bat guano tea? Raccoons steal my suet from the suet cages a few times a week. I think they are omnivores do the bat guano may smell like something tasty to them.

I would be pissed. Never have seen an animal do that. Usually eat the leaves.....I do agree with Hopper.....squirrel.

I had problems just like that about 10 years back. My stems were chewed at the base almost carbon copy of picture above. It was rats. I had to move everything to a second spot. You could walk away and come right back and they had been there and gone asap.

nice to see you monkey guy rats did that to all my pepper plants one year chopped them right off at the bottom

I put 2 traps out we will see if something goes for that plant

I have seen a rat a couple of times in my backyard. I don’t live in the sticks but I have a mile or so of woods in my backyard to the next road. I thought rats were city dwellers but I was wrong.
