oil less medium

i'm confused.....
i have only access to soil less medium , its peat with some perlite , compost , humus , maybe coco , and i add vermiculite , but the main ingridient is peat.
my question is , should i keep ph 6-7 like you should do with soil , or ph like hydro which is 5.2-5.8

well , i did some reading , this is one thing i found and has good info in it , not specific to weed tho... any ways , i'm still confused , i keep getting reliable different opinions...... i tend to go with your journals bbp , i can't argue with reality.
if i find more info , i will update , i guess its relevant to many peat growers that i will be thank full for any post regarding this.
