New girl to the forum lookin for some insight

Heyy guys so my brother and i planted our first plant in the beginning of summer. We both have never grown before and figured we would learn along the way. He took off for school 2 weeks ago and i have been taking care of it on my own. I mean dont get me wrong i smoke alot and know quite a bit but i dont really know whats involved in harvesting a plant. Lastnight i was able to determine the sex and thank god its a female haha so exciting! but anyway now im trying to read up on what to do next. i tried to check out a few outdoor growing threads but some of it sounds like a forgien language lol
So guys i need your help, where do i go from here? Do i just keep watering it in the mornings and bringing it in at night? (its getting really cold so i was told to bring it into a dark room at night and bring it back out in the morning). When should i do this until?
Any help, advice or insight is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!!

one more thing...how do i know when the buds are ready to be harvested?

Hey AMM Congrats on your first lady... theres not really a need to bring it in and out everynight unless its going to frost... Shouldnt be that cold in CT yet... Also if its just starting to show sex it prob wont finish flowering before frost will hit... Hope that she will flower fast...

as for when to harvest you will need a pocket microscope to check the trich's (the crystals on the plant).... they will start clear then turn cloudy then amber... the cloudy /amber mix is what most people are looking for...

ok awesome so i can just clip the buds off when the crystals start to turn brown? How long does that usually take?

and how much do you think the plant will yield? It is in a plastic round pot and from the soil up i would say its about 3 to 3 1/2 ft tall. we have not clipped it or anything just prepped the seeds and planted in the pot.

yeah i have a few on my camera phone but they are crappy quality and you cant see anything...should i post up?

pics will allow people here to better help someone... its not necessary but if no one can see you plant then its much harder for them to offer you any tips... a pic may also help i knowing how long it will take to flower...

are the leaves short and wide or are the long and skinny? do you know the stain or was it bagseed??

im going to try to upload a pic shortly. as far as the strand i dont really know lol i guess my brother got the seed from a friends stash of bud.
