We have germinated seeds that are about 4 1/2 inches long on average. When we go to plant how far above the soil should the plants be?... My partner and I were both thinking opposite on this one, so we were looking for a little enlightenment.

well first off 4 and 1/2 inches is alot longer than you should germinate.. not that you shouldn't they just tend to be way more brittle.. I always plant the seeds to where you can just see the seed, or if the seed is gonem then just the top of the plant.. it seems to work out well for me that way......... Good Luck.. hope all is well:)

i believe most bury right upto the lowest set of leaves or nodes
i thought he meant seedlings
not tap roots

Yes, there is some confusion here--are you talking about the tap root being that long or are you talking about the stem of the seedling?

4 1/2 tap when germinating? lol hes gotta be talking about the stem
