Natural Germination

I dont want to use the paper towl method and just want to drop them in some cups of soil. All i have to do is make sure the soil stays moist and warm until they sprout, correct? and also, when they sprout, can i use the sun's light during the day and bring them in during the night, or would it be better to use a cfl for a couple weeks? thanks for the help!

soil works great.
Depends where you live on that outdoor sun question. Where I live they would stretch way to much, so I use my cfl's.

I have 2 that popped their little heads out of the soil, just this morning!

what exactly is stretching and why does it happen? wouldn't putting the small sprouts outside during the day stiffen the stem?
