Week 4:

I think they are looking hungry due to 2 weeks of rain but they are progressing. Hoping the soil gets to dry out a bit over the next few days.

hungry?

give them a snack
I gave them a snack a couple days ago(EM-1 with AN pH Perfect trio) but then we had 7 or 8” of rain over a 48 hr period. Probably rinsed a lot of the feeding out. 😳 The soil is Roots Organics Green Lite which has amendments in it. I will feed again tomorrow as I’d like the soil to dry out a bit.

Watered with EM-1, Epsom salt and Kelp4Less Extreme Blend this morning. Hit the vegetable garden too as well as my 20+ year old Poinsettia plant that is flowering like it is Christmas now. Weird. Starting to see pistils on the 24 KT’s. I think they are too small for that nonsense but it is what it is, what it was and what it shall be…

Found 2 Japanese Beetles copulating on a fan leaf this morning…

I really should have started these inside under lights. They are flowering and small at 29 days(I think they are small anyway). Apologies to @Carty for screwing these seeds up. Been a very rainy and cloudy summer here. I think that is part of the reason they are stunted. The soil has been nearly continuously wet. Started putting them under a table on my deck when rain threatens. Have the girls a little EM-1 today. They are getting darker green but I’d like them darker still.

I think the autos do better under lights. I moved two outside in nice weather to make room in the tent for the others. The two on the porch larffed out with small buds unlike their sisters in the tent which had at least double the bud and much tighter worthy of the jar. I used the two plants in my last batch of kief which tastes and smells nice but not worth the trimming for smoke weed

Ah, that blows... It can really depend on the strain too.. My Gabagoo and Miss Piggy excel outside and indoors... but, they do seem to respond well to even a low budget daytime spectrum.. and they just love a day in the tub receiving that weird bathroom light thru that strange window... return them to tent lighting and after 24hrs she really expands and looks healthy... I call it a UV day...

wishing you the best of luck

We all need an occasional ‘day at the beach(or tub)’…

They are going to be small but at least they are getting some sunshine. Dosed them up with some AN pH Perfect nutes along with some Bud Candy and, of course, Cal Mag yesterday.

OFSG reveg still going. Trimmed up some of the surrounding vegetation and tied a lilac sucker out of the way to give her some air and a bit more sunshine while it lasts. Hoping we are getting our years(probably more like 2 years) worth of rain out if the way and I get a dry period up until harvest. A bit of bug munching I will take care of with some spinosad later.

She got a feeding yesterday too.

6 week check up. Carty recommended I remove the lowest 2 branches on the weaker of the 2. Makes sense. I am happy I have guidance like his on my first auto grow. Fed them some EM-1 yesterday. More rain on the way. This must be what it is like to live in Portland…

I kinda like the ease of auto flowers. I am not sure why I am not having much of an insect problem. I suspect the 100’s of birds that eat at oldfogey’s diner have something to do with it though. There are huge grape vines near me that are decimated by Japanese beetles but none of the plants in my yard are seeing much insect damage. I am a bit surprised that I haven’t seen any powdery mildew though which makes me question my bird theory. It has been rainy and HUMID here.

They are looking good. I do have a few leaf hoppers that seem to enjoy the spinasod shower every week. I few leaves damaged, not sure if they are doing it but it’s not enough to worry about. They are looking pretty healthy even for being in crazy reveg cola building status.
Good luck with these. They are looking just right to me 😊

Has anyone tried using baking soda as a preventative measure for powdery mildew during flower? We are getting daily drenching rain here in Central Massachusetts and I am concerned that shaking the moisture off of the plants won’t be enough. I also have a sample size of Lost Coast in my stores of stuff.

They seemed to of liked the rain too.... bulking up a bit. Autos are known for doing some serious stacking late in life and with these looking to be Sativa dom, your probably looking at a 75 to 80 day plant... but nature will tell us when they be happy... sure look healthy and sticky bro..
Careful, developing a love for autos is contagious... lol
